Heat pump installation in Calgary, sized against your actual house and paired with a gas furnace so the coldest weeks are covered.

BBB A+ Accredited
WCB Alberta currentIt depends on your home and your efficiency goals. A heat pump is efficient cooling first, with supplemental heat on top depending on the weather outside.
The house is ready for one and something else is due anyway, so the money does two jobs at once.
Something in the house has to be sorted first, and putting a heat pump on top of it wastes the machine.
If the answer is not a heat pump this year, we will say so and price the alternative beside it. You get the reasoning before you commit to anything.
An air source heat pump does not burn anything. It moves heat, pulling warmth from outdoor air in winter and pushing it back out in summer, so one unit replaces your air conditioner.

Three steps, and the same crew through all of them. The people who measure your house are the people who install the heat pump and commission it before they leave.
Sizing measured on the house you actually own. We read the ductwork, take a static pressure reading, and check the panel for spare capacity.
Equipment, labour, electrical*, permit and disposal, itemised on one sheet before anything is ordered. You will know the tier and where the changeover sits.
The outdoor unit set level on its pad, the line set brazed, pressure tested and vacuumed down, then the system proven in both heating and cooling before the van leaves.
The quote is written on the visit, not posted to you three days later. If your system is down right now, skip the form and call. 24/7 emergency service, an owner answers or calls back.
*Electrical sometimes needs a licensed electrician. Where it does, it is discussed on the visit and added to the quote afterwards rather than priced on the spot.
Most heat pump installations in Calgary take one to two days. A single ductless head is the short end, and pairing one with a gas furnace pairing a new heat pump with a new furnace is the long end.
One day on site. The outdoor unit goes on its pad, the line set runs through to each head, and every head is proven in heating and in cooling before we leave.
One day in most houses. The old condenser goes, the heat pump takes its place on the pad, and the controls are set to hand over to the furnace you already have.
Two days is normal. A new furnace and a new heat pump go in together, the electrical and the venting are done once, and the changeover is set at commissioning.
Which of the three you are looking at is settled on the quoting visit, once the loads are run and the panel has been read. The date is yours to pick from there.
Rebate programs for heat pumps exist and change through the year, so the current detail is kept in one place, with heat pump rebates and HVAC financing in Calgary.
Promotions on new installations change through the year, so ask what is running when you book. Once approved, you sign off directly with the lender.
The discount comes off the price we quote you. There is no list price marked up first so the saving looks bigger than it is. Ask about it when you book.
Equipment, labour, and what is included, itemised before any work starts. If something turns up on the day, you decide before we carry on.
If our workmanship is at fault we come back and fix it, no argument. The equipment carries its own manufacturer warranty on top of that.
Subject to a third-party credit check. Approval and terms are set by the lender, not by us, and we will tell you what you qualify for before you commit.
A heat pump is a box plenty of companies in Calgary will sell you. What separates one heat pump installation Calgary quote from the next is who sizes it and who fits it.

No subcontractors, on any job
The technician in your mechanical room is a TNT employee, not a crew hired for the week. The standard is the same on the fifth job of the day as on the first.
24/7, answers or calls back
No heat at 2am in a Calgary February is an emergency, not a ticket. Ring at any hour and an owner answers or calls back, tells you what to check, and when someone can be there.
Before a tool leaves the van
An itemised quote covering equipment, labour and what is included. 15% off new installs, plus financing with promotions that change through the year.
Measured on every install
Refrigerant charge weighed in, airflow and static pressure read across the ductwork, and the defrost cycle proven before we leave. Two year warranty on the labour.
Every review TNT has ever received is a five star review. Heat pump installation Calgary homeowners get the same crew that earned every one of them.
TNT installed the furnace system on our new build, and then we proceeded to get our AC with TNT as well. Jamie was super responsive, kind, and informative… In addition to being fairly priced.
Jamie and his team provide incredible expertise. They gave me consultative choices to improve my existing system, and clean installation done right… all at a fair price.
Great job and great price.
It was -30 kind of winter day… other companies asked for us to wait over 24 hours… Jamie came to service our non heating furnace within an hour and fixed the problem quickly.
Amazing service. I would not go with anyone else. Jamie tells you the truth, stands by his work and follows up.
Not only was TNT very reasonably priced, they fit me into their busy schedule during the heat spell and got me all set up in no time.
Jaime was professional and kept me informed throughout the entire process… His technician arrived on time, was knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of my questions.
Would highly recommend. Check with TNT before making any decision regarding heating or AC install. Believe me. They were amazing.
Yes. A cold climate heat pump still makes heat at minus 25. In Alberta the changeover is set higher than that, nearer minus 15, because below it cheap natural gas is the better way to buy heat.

Three quite different machines share the name. Which one suits you comes down to how far into the winter you want it to carry, and what the ductwork is like.
Strong above about minus 10
Cheapest of the three to put in and it cools just as well. Heating output falls away in the deep cold, so it wants a healthy gas furnace behind it.
Inverter driven, rated to minus 25
Built for this climate. A variable speed compressor pulls heat out of air the others have given up on, and it carries most of a Calgary heating season.
Wall heads, no ductwork at all
The answer where there are no ducts: homes with hot water heat, additions, garages and suites. Each head has its own control, so a suite sets its own temperature.
Sizing decides more here than on anything else we install. Oversized it short cycles, undersized it leans on backup heat, so the calculation comes first.
Nobody can price a heat pump over the phone, and a range printed on a website is a guess dressed up as information. These four things set the number.
Sized against the heating and the cooling loads of your house, not its floor area. Insulation and windows change the answer.
Working with healthy existing ductwork is one job. Running a multi head ductless system through a house with no ducts at all is a different one.
Keeping a gas furnace on as the backup changes the equipment, the controls and the wiring. Going all electric changes all three the other way.
A heat pump needs a dedicated circuit and the panel capacity to feed it, and cold climate equipment costs more than the base of the range does.
None of these four can be judged from a photograph or a phone call, which is why the number follows a visit. Ring and we will tell you what we need to see first.
We repair heat pumps as well as install them, including systems that came from somebody else. Diagnosis comes first, and the finding comes with a price in writing before anything is ordered.
