Hot surface ignitor
Most common
The blower runs and only cold air arrives. The element that lights the gas has gone brittle and stopped glowing. We test it and fit a matched part off the van.
Furnace repair in Calgary from a small, local, owner-run crew that answers its own phone. The fault is named and the price agreed in writing before anything gets fitted.

WCB Alberta currentNearly every no-heat call in Calgary comes down to one of these six.
Most common
The blower runs and only cold air arrives. The element that lights the gas has gone brittle and stopped glowing. We test it and fit a matched part off the van.
Lights then drops
It lights, burns a few seconds, drops out and starts again. Oxide on the sensing rod has cut the current. We clean it, then read the microamp signal on a meter.
Lockout
The inducer spins up, holds, and the burners never light. A drift over the intake, a plugged trap or a split hose stops it proving airflow. A manometer says which.
Airflow
A hum with no air moving, or air that is barely warm. Usually a weak run capacitor or worn bearings. We measure it against its rating, and static pressure with it.
Short cycling
It heats, gets hot, then shuts down and repeats. A blocked filter or closed returns starve the heat exchanger and the limit trips. We read static pressure across it.
Safety, not comfort
Flames that roll on startup, soot, or a monoxide alarm. The steel between the flue gases and your air has split. We shut it down and isolate the gas, not patch it.
A house with no heat drops temperature fast, so a call for furnace repair in Calgary at 2am is handled exactly the way it would be at 2pm.
There is no after-hours voicemail and no message saying the office reopens Monday. The line is open at 3am on a Sunday and it gets answered.
Not a receptionist in another province working from a script, and not an answering service taking a message. An owner of TNT answers the phone.
Before anybody gets in a van we tell you what to check, what to shut off, and how to hold the temperature in the house while you wait.
If we cannot reach you quickly you hear it on the phone, not after two hours of wondering whether a van was ever coming. You can plan.
Most no-heat calls in Calgary are done in one visit, often within a couple of hours. The three steps run whether it is a booked furnace service in Calgary or 24 hour furnace repair at two in the morning.
Give us the symptom and the flash code and we will tell you what it usually points to before anybody gets in a van. A flat thermostat battery costs you nothing.
A meter on the board terminals through the sequence of operation, a manometer on the gas. The fault is named and agreed in writing before a part comes off the van.
Gas pressure back to the manufacturer spec, temperature rise inside range, a combustion test and a monoxide reading. Two year warranty on the labour.
The quote is written on the visit, not posted to you three days later. If your system is down right now, skip the form and call. 24/7 emergency service, an owner answers or calls back.
Nearly every furnace repair Calgary homeowners book ends with the unit fixed, and we would rather do that than sell one. When the honest answer is a new unit, we say so.
The furnace has years left and one component has given up.
The money goes into a unit that will ask for it again soon.
If a repair gets you another few good years we will do that and say so. When it does not, you get both numbers side by side, in writing. You decide.
Anybody can send a van. What separates one furnace repair Calgary quote from the next is who is holding the meter, and whether the fault gets measured or guessed.
Since 2020
Started by family and close friends and still run by them. No head office, no franchise agreement, and no regional manager between you and the work.
No subcontractors, on any job
The technician in your mechanical room is a TNT employee, not a crew hired for the week. The standard is the same on the fifth job of the day as on the first.
24/7, answers or calls back
No heat at 2am in a Calgary February is an emergency, not a ticket. Ring at any hour and an owner answers or calls back, tells you what to check, and when someone can be there.
Before a tool leaves the van
An itemised quote covering equipment, labour and what is included. 15% off new installs, plus financing with promotions that change through the year.
Combustion tested every install
Gas pressure set, venting verified, static pressure read across the ductwork, and a combustion analysis run before we leave. Two year warranty on the labour.
Five stars from every customer who has left a review, including the ones who called for furnace repair in Calgary in the middle of the night.
It was -30 kind of winter day… other companies asked for us to wait over 24 hours… Jamie came to service our non heating furnace within an hour and fixed the problem quickly.
Amazing service. I would not go with anyone else. Jamie tells you the truth, stands by his work and follows up.
Would highly recommend. Check with TNT before making any decision regarding heating or AC install. Believe me. They were amazing.
TNT installed the furnace system on our new build, and then we proceeded to get our AC with TNT as well. Jamie was super responsive, kind, and informative… In addition to being fairly priced.
Jamie and his team provide incredible expertise. They gave me consultative choices to improve my existing system, and clean installation done right… all at a fair price.
Not only was TNT very reasonably priced, they fit me into their busy schedule during the heat spell and got me all set up in no time.
Great job and great price.
Jaime was professional and kept me informed throughout the entire process… His technician arrived on time, was knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of my questions.
There is no price list on this page and there is not an honest one anywhere else. A repair is priced after the fault has been found, not before. These six things move the number.
An ignitor, a flame sensor or a run capacitor sits at the light end of the trade. A blower motor, a gas valve or a control board sits at the considerably heavier end.
The faults we see most travel with us, so those calls are one visit and one labour charge. A part that has to be ordered adds a second visit and a supplier timeline.
Past about twenty years components go obsolete. A board for a discontinued model gets chased through a salvage supplier, or matched to a universal one and rewired.
A furnace in an open basement is quick to work on. One boxed into a closet behind a finished wall costs time, and poor original workmanship is billed as the time to undo.
Ignitors that keep cracking are a symptom of something making them work too hard. We read gas pressure, temperature rise and static pressure on every call for that reason.
A repair booked into regular hours and one at 3am on a Sunday are not the same call. After hours, weekends and statutory holidays carry an additional call-out charge.
The number arrives after the diagnosis, in writing, and nothing is replaced until you say yes. If the honest answer is a new furnace, that quote is free and 15% off new installs applies.
